St. Leo’s Elementary

Grades Preschool - Grade 2

Little Lions Learning Center, located at St. Leo’s School, offers three high quality pre-school experiences.

All preschool programs are language and play-based with developmentally appropriate activities to promote social, language, cognitive, and physical skills to prepare children for school. Choose the program which best fits the needs of your child:

Three-year old Program:  Children who are three by July31st of the current school year and are toilet trained may attend a 2 day/week preschool class.  Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday 8:30-11:15.

Four-year old Program: Children who are four by July 31st of the current school year have the choice of a 3 or 5 day/week preschool class.  The 3 day/week class meets 8:30 – 11:15 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  The 5 day/week class meet Monday-Friday 12:00 – 3:00 and includes an expanded curriculum with Computer, Music, Library and Health.

Full day Kindergarten allows advanced curriculum and preparation for 1st grade.  The curriculum stresses Language Arts. Other electives include music, art, technology, PE, and health. Children must be five years old by July 31 to enroll in Kindergarten.

Children in grades 1 & 2 attend St. Leo’s School, which is staffed by certified and dedicated professionals who integrate standardized curriculum with the religious values of faith to promote academic and spiritual excellence.   Grades 1-2 stress Language Arts.   Other electives include music, technology, PE, and health.   To meet the needs of all children Title I, Special Services, and Counseling are also offered.

Individualized Learning Plans are in place for each student.  Learning plans allow for customized education that maximizes each student’s strengths.  Educators serve as “TEAM MEMBERS,” utilizing their collective expertise to best tailor learning plans.

Students and their parents are welcome to participate in daily Mass prior to the start of school.  Special Children's masses are scheduled each month. Second grade students have the opportunity to serve at mass daily.

We are strong in academics, and we place Christ at the center of our curriculum.  Religion classes and faith-based living are emphasized throughout the day providing a very unique learning environment for our students.  Our task is the education of the whole person, blending learning with faith, and faith with daily life.
